Currently reading up on ethical meathumane slaughter and treating your meat animals kindly . Mostly by well-meaning farmers who likely possess the rudimentary elements of conscience and compassion. But it all boils down to that one fateful moment, doesn’t it? That one moment in time when they look into the eyes of the animal that trusts them, the one raised with kindness, maybe even affection… and then they bludgeon it over the head with a hammer and watch it fall, and writhe, and twitch as it dies. But let’s not judge too harshly.
Remember how kind they were along the way.
